Percussionist, Drummer, Private Instructor
Timothy
Heath is currently an active performer and educator in eastern
North Carolina where he is the Director of Bands at Spring Creek
High School and adjunct percussion instructor at Mount Olive
College. Mr. Heath also works as a marching percussion
instructor for Methodist University’s “Pride of the Carolinas”
in Fayetteville, NC. He has been a percussion instructor for
many high schools in North Carolina including Clinton High
School, East Forsyth High School, Dalton McMichael High School,
Northside High School, and George Washington High School
(Danville, VA).
His
professional career started as a traveling drummer with the
Contemporary Christian Group Zaccheaus Tree. He later worked for
First Colony Records recording artist Charlie Albertson. As a drum
set player Timothy has played in many venues across the eastern part
of the United States. As a drum set teacher he has maintained a
private studio since 2002. In orchestral performances he has
performed with various orchestras including The Robeson County
Orchestra (Pembroke, NC) and The Greensboro Philharmonia
(Greensboro, NC) and the Wilson Symphony Orchestra (Wilson, NC). He
still performs for several small orchestral ensembles in eastern,
NC.
Timothy has served as a marching percussion adjudicator in North
Carolina and Virginia. He is an active Clinician for middle schools
and high schools. Timothy has presented clinics in North Carolina
and Maryland. He holds a degree in Music Education from the
University of North Carolina at Greensboro and is currently pursuing
a Master’s degree in Music from the University of North Carolina at
Pembroke. His primary teachers have included Tracy Wiggins, Nathan
Daughtrey, Pat Petrillo, Wiley Sikes, and Jonathon Latta.
He is a member
of the Percussive Arts Society, MENC and Mu Phi Epsilon. Timothy is
also an educational endorser for Pro-Mark Drum Sticks and Mallets,
Pearl/Adams Musical Instruments, and Qwik Stix Stick Holders. |
